While staying in the Gîte de la Mazière, you will have the opportunity to discover the Limousin region well-known for its green landscapes. Places such as the vast lake of Vassivière or the Jarrauds’ waterfalls will make you feel closer to the nature.
You will meet the history when crossing the Gallo-roman Senoueix bridge and learn more about the medieval life when walking though the town of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat. Limousin has also been the theatre of a very sad episode of the French history: the massacre of Oradour Sur Glane. Today, in order to better understand what happened, it is possible to visit this village and its museum.
As the cottage is not far from Limoges, you will have the chance to find out more about porcelain and enamel manufacturing. Finally, you won’t leave Limousin without tasting the famous Limousine beef and apples.
